High-capacity mesh chair with 4-lever ergonomic adjustment

Need a Breathable Ergonomic Chair with a More Substantial 160kg Rating?

Mesh office chairs can provide excellent airflow, but many lighter-duty models compromise on adjustability, support or load capacity.

The Seville Mesh Ergonomic Chair combines a breathable high mesh back with a 4-lever ergonomic mechanism, adjustable seat depth, seat and back angles, manual backrest height and a substantial 160kg AFRDI load rating.

Its firmer lumbar profile makes it particularly relevant for users who prefer noticeable lower-back contact rather than a very soft or subtle backrest feel.

Breathable mesh, substantial lumbar support and a 160kg commercial-duty rating.

The Seville is designed for long-hour workstation use when you want more than the light feel and basic adjustment of a typical mesh office chair.

Built for Long-Hour, Higher-Capacity Office Use

160kg

AFRDI Load Rated to 160kg

A substantially higher user-weight rating than many standard office chairs, while retaining AFRDI Level 6 commercial certification.

4X

4-Lever Ergonomic Mechanism

Adjust seat height, seat angle, seat depth and backrest angle rather than relying on one fixed chair position.

MESH

Breathable High Mesh Back

Allows airflow through the backrest while still providing a substantial support surface for prolonged desk work.

LUMBAR

Firm Lumbar Support

Provides a more pronounced lower-back contact than users may experience in softer or relatively flat mesh-back chairs.

A Higher Weight Rating Shouldn't Mean Giving Up Proper Adjustment

Some higher-capacity chairs achieve their strength by becoming large, basic and relatively inflexible.

The Seville takes a different approach.

It combines its 160kg rating with the adjustments you would expect from a serious ergonomic task chair, including seat depth, seat angle, backrest angle and backrest height.

That makes it relevant not only because of how much weight it can support, but because of how much control it gives you over chair fit.

Four Controls Let You Adjust More Than Just Chair Height

H

Seat Height

Raise or lower the chair to suit your leg length and working surface.

Seat Depth

Slide the seat forwards or backwards to better match the support beneath your thighs.

Seat Angle

Change the seat-pan angle rather than being restricted to one fixed relationship between the seat and floor.

BACK

Backrest Angle

Adjust the position of the backrest around your preferred working posture.

Seat Depth Adjustment Helps the Chair Fit Different Leg Lengths

Seat depth is one of the most useful chair adjustments because thigh length varies significantly between users.

If the seat extends too far behind your knees, you may find yourself sitting forward instead of using the backrest.

If there is too little support beneath your thighs, the chair may feel undersized.

The Seville's seat-slide mechanism lets you alter the seat position rather than accepting one fixed depth.

Firm Lower-Back Contact for Users Who Prefer Noticeable Lumbar Support

Lumbar preference is highly individual.

Some people dislike a strong lower-back contour, while others find a flat or soft backrest does not provide enough contact.

The Seville is positioned at the firmer end of the mesh-chair range, providing a more noticeable lumbar-support feel through the lower back.

i

Strong lumbar support isn't automatically better. If you prefer a softer or highly adjustable lumbar feel, another chair may suit you better.

Adjust the Backrest Height Around Your Torso

The Seville includes manual back-height adjustment, allowing the complete backrest to be repositioned vertically.

This is particularly useful because the position of the lumbar contour only helps when it actually aligns with the user's lower back.

Fine-tune the backrest height until the lower-back support feels useful without pushing into an uncomfortable point.

High Mesh Back for Airflow and Substantial Back Coverage

The Seville's mesh backrest measures approximately 60cm high × 52.5cm wide.

That gives it the proportions of a substantial high-back task chair while retaining the airflow and visual lightness associated with mesh.

This can be particularly useful in warmer environments or for users who dislike having their whole back against padded upholstery throughout the day.

A Substantial Seat Without Moving into an Oversized Chair

The upholstered seat measures approximately 51.5cm wide × 49cm deep.

That provides a generous general-purpose seat size while retaining the ability to fine-tune effective seat depth through the seat-slide mechanism.

The seat uses cushioning suited to regular commercial office use rather than relying on mesh beneath the body.

Check your required seat height

The Seville Has a Relatively High 49–62.5cm Seat-Height Range

The chair's wide vertical adjustment range can be useful with higher work surfaces and taller users.

However, a minimum seat height of approximately 49cm may be higher than ideal for some shorter users.

Check your preferred seat height before ordering rather than relying on overall body height alone.

If the chair needs to remain higher so your arms align correctly with the desk, a suitable footrest may help support the feet. If 49cm is simply too high for your body, another chair is the better solution.

AFRDI Level 6 and Load Rated to 160kg

The Seville is both AFRDI Level 6 certified and AFRDI load rated to 160kg.

That makes it particularly relevant for organisations or individuals who require commercial-grade seating with a higher specified capacity than a typical 110kg office chair.

A higher load rating does not automatically mean a chair will fit every larger user, however. Seat dimensions, backrest shape and height range should still be checked.

Particularly Well Suited To

Long-Hour Office Work
Higher-Capacity Seating
Corporate Workstations
Mesh-Chair Users

It is particularly relevant if you want a traditional manually adjustable ergonomic chair, prefer a breathable mesh back, like firmer lumbar contact and require a capacity above the common 110–135kg chair range.

Solid Construction Comes with More Chair Weight

The Seville is built as a substantial commercial ergonomic chair rather than an ultra-light task chair.

That robustness can be reassuring in long-hour and higher-capacity use, but it also means the chair may feel heavier to lift, carry or move between rooms than lighter office chairs.

If you regularly need to physically carry your chair rather than roll it around the workstation, keep that trade-off in mind.

Seville or Madrid High Back?

SEV

Choose the Seville If...

You want a high mesh ergonomic chair with a 160kg load rating and prefer a firmer, more substantial lumbar-support feel.

MAD

Choose the Madrid If...

You remain within its 110kg rating and particularly value the ability to adjust the lumbar support itself through multiple vertical positions.

Seville or Ergoform?

SEV

Seville

Better suited if you want a breathable high mesh back and firmer lumbar contact while retaining a 160kg commercial load rating.

EF

Ergoform

Better suited if you prefer a padded upholstered backrest with a pronounced integrated lumbar contour rather than mesh.

Seville or Ergo Air?

MESH

Seville

Better suited if mesh airflow and a firmer lower-back support profile are the priority.

AIR

Ergo Air

Better suited if you prefer an upholstered back and want to adjust lumbar prominence using the built-in air-pump system.

Seville or a Synchro Chair?

The Seville uses a traditional multi-lever approach.

You manually choose the relationship between seat angle, backrest angle and your preferred working position.

Chairs such as the Ergo Synchro and Como instead use a synchro mechanism, allowing the seat and backrest to coordinate their movement as you recline.

Choose the Seville if you like direct manual control. Consider a synchro chair if you prefer the chair to move dynamically with you during the day.

Choose Your Armrest and Base Configuration

The Seville can be configured with or without armrests, allowing you to choose the setup that best suits your desk and working style.

Base and arm finishes are also available in different configurations depending on the option selected.

i

Armrests should help you get closer to the desk, not stop you. If fitted, adjust them so your shoulders remain relaxed and the chair can still move sufficiently close to your keyboard and mouse.

Set the Chair Up Around Your Body, Not the Other Way Around

1

Set Seat Height & Depth

Start with your legs and desk position, then slide the seat until your thighs are supported without crowding behind the knees.

2

Position the Backrest

Adjust backrest height so the firmer lumbar area contacts your lower back where it feels supportive rather than intrusive.

3

Fine-Tune Seat & Back Angles

Use the remaining controls to establish a comfortable working relationship between the seat, backrest and desk.

A 160kg Ergonomic Chair Still Isn't Designed for One Fixed Sitting Position

Strength and adjustability make the Seville a capable long-hour chair, but they do not remove the need to move.

Adjust the chair around your main working position, then change posture, stand, walk and move regularly throughout the day.

The aim is a workstation that supports movement rather than encouraging you to remain completely still for hours.

Choosing the Seville Because Your Current Chair Feels Uncomfortable?

More seat adjustment, a different lumbar profile and a better-fitting backrest can change how your body is supported during desk work.

That may make sitting more comfortable for some people.

However, no ergonomic chair can guarantee relief from back pain, neck pain, hip discomfort or another musculoskeletal condition.

Desk height, monitor position, keyboard and mouse setup, sitting duration, movement and individual health factors should also be considered.

Persistent or significant symptoms should be assessed by an appropriate health professional.
